At Queen Elizabeth’s School, Dubai Sports City, the QE House programme is at the heart of student life and pastoral care. More than just a structure, it is a cornerstone of our School culture, creating a vibrant, inclusive environment in which every student feels seen, valued, and connected.
From the moment they join Queen Elizabeth’s School, Dubai Sports City, each student becomes a proud member of a House, which is a smaller community within the wider School. This affiliation fosters a strong sense of identity, loyalty, and belonging. It encourages students to support one another, celebrate collective success, and take pride in their contributions to the School’s life.
The House system provides opportunities for healthy competition and collaborative spirit through a rich calendar of events and activities. These span academic challenges, inter-House sports, creative and cultural competitions, and service initiatives. Through these experiences, students develop resilience, teamwork, and commitment to excellence.
Older students are encouraged to take on leadership roles within their Houses, serving as mentors, prefects, or House Captains. These positions offer authentic opportunities to lead, inspire and model the core values of Queen Elizabeth's School, Dubai Sports City: excellence, curiosity, integrity, community, ambition, and responsibility. Cross-age relationships are intentionally nurtured, reinforcing a sense of family, and continuity across the School.
Beyond events and leadership, the House Programme plays a vital role in wellbeing, pastoral support, and student voice. Regular House assemblies and tutor check-ins provide safe spaces for reflection, dialogue and personal growth. It also forms an integral part of our celebration culture, with recognition not only for achievement, but for effort, improvement and acts of kindness.
The QE House programme embodies our mission to develop confident, able and responsible young people. It strengthens relationships, builds character, and ensures students feel a sense of belonging.
