Personal development time

At Queen Elizabeth’s School, Dubai Sports City, student wellbeing is a cornerstone of our ethos, and Personal Development Time (PDT) is the structured framework through which it is brought to life. Each student receives dedicated PDT each week, ensuring that wellbeing is not an add-on, but a core element of our educational provision.

Delivered through a blend of tutor-led lessons, assemblies, discussion slots, and one-to-one tutorials, PDT provides structured time for students to build resilience, develop healthy coping strategies, and explore personal values. It supports mental health, emotional growth, and character development, equipping students with the confidence and tools to navigate both challenges and opportunities.

PDT also reinforces positive relationships across the school. By combining academic guidance with pastoral care, it creates space for reflection, dialogue, and mentoring. Students are encouraged to consider topical issues, practice effective communication, and develop respect and empathy for diverse perspectives and cultures.

Through PDT, every student benefits from a strong wellbeing network and a clear sense of belonging. It underpins our mission to nurture confident, able, and responsible young people who flourish not only in their studies but in every aspect of their lives.
